Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 5, 2026
This policy explains what Innovation Nexus LLC collects when you visit innovationnexus.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It also explains, separately, how we handle data belonging to our consulting clients and the residents they serve.
Who is responsible for your information
Innovation Nexus LLC is the business responsible for this website and for the information described below. You can reach us at:

What we collect
Information you give us
Our contact form asks for your name, email address, and message. When you submit it, that content is emailed to our sales inbox so a person can reply. We do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not store contact form submissions in a separate customer database. The message lives in our email system for as long as we need it for the enquiry and our business records, and we delete it on request.
If you email or call us directly, we keep that correspondence on the same basis. Please do not send confidential, regulated, or resident personal data through the website form. If you need to share sensitive material, ask us and we will arrange a secure channel.
Information collected automatically
- Server and network logs. Our web servers and our content delivery and security provider, Cloudflare, record request data such as IP address, timestamp, requested URL, referring page, and browser user agent. This is used to serve the site, block abuse, and diagnose faults.
- Privacy focused analytics. We run our own self hosted analytics on our own infrastructure. It records page views, referrers, approximate country, and device type without cookies and without tracking you across other websites.
- Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager. We also use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to measure traffic and to count contact form submissions as a conversion. This uses cookies and processes a truncated IP address. Google processes that data as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in the Google Privacy Policy. This site loads no Google advertising or remarketing tags. See our cookie notice for the specific cookies and how to opt out.
- Google Signals. Google Signals is enabled on our Analytics property. When a visitor is signed in to a Google account that has Ads Personalisation switched on, Google may associate their visit here with that account. That gives us cross device reporting and aggregate demographic and interest reports. We never see the account, the name, or any individual behind those reports, and we do not use them to target advertising. Because of this linkage, some US state privacy laws treat what happens here as sharing for cross context behavioural advertising, so we treat it that way too and give you a standing opt out. See your privacy choices.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information, and we have never accepted money for it.
- We do not run advertising or retargeting pixels on this site, and we do not build advertising audiences from it.
- Apart from the Google Signals linkage described above, we do not share personal information for cross context behavioural advertising. You can switch that linkage off for yourself at any time.
- We do not require an account, and the public site sets no login cookie for visitors.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Why we are allowed to use it
We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website, in understanding how it is used, and in replying to people who contact us. We do not ask you to create an account and we do not build a profile of you.
For Google Analytics and Google Signals we rely on your consent, collected through the cookie banner. Google Consent Mode holds analytics and advertising storage denied for visitors in the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland until you accept, so nothing is stored while you decide. Elsewhere analytics starts granted and the banner lets you decline. Either way your choice is remembered, and you can change it whenever you like from Your privacy choices in the footer of every page.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we do not load Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics at all. That outranks everything else, including the banner, because a browser level opt out is a legal request rather than a preference. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it and does not affect anything we did beforehand.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the site and our business, under contracts that limit them to our instructions:
- Cloudflare, for content delivery, DNS, and security filtering.
- Google, for Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.
- Our email and hosting providers, which carry and store contact form messages.
We will also disclose information where the law requires it, where we need to establish or defend legal claims, or in connection with a sale or reorganisation of the business. Some of these providers process data in the United States and other countries. Where a transfer out of the UK or the European Economic Area is involved, it is covered by the relevant standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
How long we keep it
- Contact form messages and correspondence: for the enquiry, then as a business record, and deleted on request.
- Server and security logs: short retention, typically measured in weeks, then rotated out.
- Analytics data: aggregate reporting only, retained no longer than the provider default.
Client and resident data in consulting work
This is the part that matters most to our municipal clients, and it is deliberately separate from everything above.
When we perform consulting work, we may be given access to systems that contain personal information about employees, utility customers, permit applicants, and residents, including Tyler Munis, EnerGov, utility billing, payroll, and the SQL Server databases behind them. That access is governed by the signed agreement with the client, not by this website policy. The client remains the data owner and the records custodian. We act as a service provider or processor and use the data only to perform the work the client has asked for.
Our standing practices on engagements:
- Least privilege and time limited access, granted and revoked by the client.
- Work in non production or de identified data wherever the task allows it.
- No copying of production data onto personal devices or unmanaged storage.
- No use of client data to train third party AI models, and no submission of identifiable client data to a general purpose AI service without written client approval.
- Retention limited to the engagement plus any period the contract or the client retention schedule requires, then return or secure destruction on request.
- Prompt notification to the client if we become aware of a suspected data incident affecting their information.
Records we hold on behalf of a public body may be subject to the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, equivalent public records law in the client jurisdiction, and the client records retention schedule. Residents seeking access to their own records should contact the public body, not us, because the public body is the custodian.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, to limit how we use it, and to appeal a refusal. You will not be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, email sales@innovationnexus.com with enough detail for us to find your information. We will acknowledge within 10 business days and respond within 45 days, and we will tell you if we need longer. We may need to verify your identity before we act, and we will only use what you send for verification. An authorised agent may act for you with written permission.
Your privacy choices
This is the opt out from Google Analytics and the Google Signals linkage, which some US state laws treat as sharing for cross context behavioural advertising. Any one of these works on its own, and none of them requires an account or an email to us:
- Your privacy choices, in the footer of every page. Opens the cookie banner again so you can decline. Your choice is stored in your browser and applies on every later visit.
- Global Privacy Control. If your browser or an extension sends the signal, we do not load Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics at all. This overrides the banner and we cannot switch it off.
- Google account settings. Turning off Ads Personalisation in your Google account stops the Signals linkage for every site, not just ours.
- Browser controls. Block or clear cookies, or install the Google Analytics opt out add on.
- Ask us. Email sales@innovationnexus.com and we will confirm the opt out in writing.
Because your choice lives in your browser, clearing site data or switching browser or device will reset it, and you will see the banner again. See the cookie notice for the specific cookies involved.
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you may also complain to your data protection authority. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and sits behind Cloudflare. Administrative areas of the site are restricted to staff, excluded from search indexing, and protected by authenticated sessions that expire when the browser tab closes. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we do not promise absolute security, but we do keep access tight and review it.
Third party links and social platforms
This site links out to other places. Once you follow a link, that provider policy applies rather than ours, and we have no control over what they collect.
We maintain company profiles on LinkedIn, Facebook (Meta), and X. Our social icons are plain links drawn as inline graphics, so nothing is requested from those platforms and no data reaches them until you actually click. When you interact with us on one of those platforms, that platform is an independent controller of the data it collects, on its own terms, and it may show us aggregate audience statistics about our page or posts. We cannot identify individual people from those statistics. If you leave a review through our Google Business Profile, Google handles that review and your Google account information under its own policy.
We run no advertising or measurement pixels from any social platform on this site. There is no Meta pixel, no TikTok pixel, no X pixel, and no LinkedIn Insight Tag. We do not operate a TikTok account for this business. If any of that changes, this notice and our cookie notice will change with it before the tag goes live.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and move the effective date at the top. Material changes will be called out here rather than made quietly.
