AI Consulting

Expert AI & LLM consulting for businesses and local government

We help organizations put large language models to work — as strategy, as agents, and as shipped product. The difference from most AI consultancies: we run our own business on the systems we recommend. A production LLM assistant, a fully autonomous daily content pipeline, and a portfolio of 13 production websites operated by agentic automation are not case studies we borrowed — they are ours, built and operated in-house.

What we do

AI strategy & readiness

Where AI actually pays off in your operation, what has to be true about your data and policies first, and a sequenced plan — so you invest in working software instead of pilots that stall.

Fixed-scope AI readiness assessment →
AI agent development

Agents that do real work in your systems: document and records automation, reporting agents, intake triage, data-entry elimination — first working agent in about two weeks.

LLM product development

Full LLM-powered features and products, engineered like software: retrieval over your data, tool calling, evaluation, and deployment. Our flagship build is Ask Civic AI — the deployed, OpenAI-powered assistant inside our Civic Suite platform, answering staff questions through a read-only tool contract over ERP-derived data.

Governance & policy

Usage policies, human-review checkpoints, records and retention mapping, and vendor evaluation — the rules that make AI defensible. Small governments can start with our free policy template.

Proof, not promises

Everything we advise on, we operate. Ask Civic AI is a deployed LLM assistant inside our Civic Suite municipal platform — OpenAI-powered, answering staff questions through a read-only tool contract over ERP-derived data. Our autonomous content pipeline researches, writes, illustrates, and publishes every weekday, and has done since June 2026. Thirteen production websites run on one cluster under one automated path — CI/CD, SEO verification, content, and monitoring — and our AI-driven lead-generation engines score signals and learn from outcomes in production. When we say an agent can be live in weeks, it is because ours are.

We publish the architecture rather than asking you to take that on trust: the tool contracts, the security boundaries, the measured scheduling data, and the failure modes we hit are all documented in how we use AI, including the parts that are still rough.

The engineering underneath is 15+ years deep — .NET, React, SQL Server — led by founder James C. Jordan. See how we build agents or read about Innovation Nexus.

Government specialization

Local government is our deepest domain: Tyler Munis and EnerGov reporting, municipal data modernization, and AI with public-records guardrails. Cities and counties should start with AI consulting for local government, the AI readiness assessment, or AI document & records automation. That municipal discipline — auditability, retention, human review — carries into every commercial engagement too.

Where we work

Innovation Nexus is based in Florence, South Carolina, with on-site availability across South Carolina and the Southeast — and remote delivery nationwide. Most engagements run fully remote; we come on-site when a project genuinely benefits from it.
